COVID-19 has impacted all of our lives hugely and in many differing ways, with social distancing becoming part of the 'new normal'.   As a result, we are all making changes to the way we live our lives, and the physical therapy professions are making changes to the way we work.

Your safety is my utmost concern.  I've made some changes... .

Increased infection control measures are in place to minimize the risk of virus transmission, as far as is reasonably possible. Currently these measures include (but are not limited to):

  • Increased time  between face-to-face appointments to allow for aeration of the treatment room .  You will not come into contact other patients when you attend an appointment.

  • All surfaces and touch points will be disinfected immediately on departure of each visiting patient.  The treatment room has been 'de-cluttered' and all the linen has been removed.  It's not as cosy as it used to be, but it's necessary for now.

  • Personal protective equipment - I will be wearing a disposable apron, and a surgical mask.  If you would like me to wear single-use gloves as an additional precaution I am happy to do so.

I respectfully ask that you also wear a face covering during treatment (which I will be happy to provide if you do not have your own).

  • We will both sanitise our hands at the beginning and end of the appointment.

  • Online booking is available for you to choose a convenient appointment.  Payment will be taken online at the point of booking to minimize the use of a card machine and cash handling.

A full COVID-19 risk assessment is available to view upon request

For new patients  If you prefer to limit the amount of face-to-face contact time we spend together it is possible to take your case and medical history over the telephone.  Please book a telephone consultation if this is your preferred option.

For follow up appointments - you will receive an email  prior to your appointment - please do not attend your appointment if you are unwell, or if anyone you have been in close contact with has COVID-19 symptoms.  There is currently no charge incurred for the late cancellation of appointments due to the pandemic, however I respectfully ask that you give me as much notice as you are able to cancel your appointment so that the time may be allocated to another patient.

Telehealth - telephone consultations with advice and exercise prescription are also available for existing patients who do not wish to visit the clinic in person at this time.
